Monique TFCD

Well I got roped into another Time For CD (TFCD)….. Just Kidding, this TFCD was quite fun and we were able to get some great shots in. We had Claudia doing makeup, Henry as the other shooter and the model was Monique. Enough talk here are the shots.

Megan & Shawn

The day started off like most wedding…… CRAZY and Chaotic.

Megan and Shawn’s wedding was no exception. However once the ceremony started the Wedding Gods were really looking out for the lovely bride and groom and everything turned out amazing.

........

..This is usually the moment where all your stress goes out the window and when you finally realize….. Ohhh My… Im getting Married.
....At one point I could tell that Meg was a getting a bit exhausted from all the group shots, so to lighten the mood I told her to “strike a pose” that is when this prefect gem and smile shined through. I was very glad I caught this candid moment as I was shooting from the hip.
I’ve always loved the big group shots where the Bride and Groom are kissing.
It looks as if Shawn’s kiss literally blew her veil back.

Hannah & Ryan’s Couples Photo Shoot in Stanley Park

This weekend I had met Hannah and Ryan. Hannah had originally contacted me via email and we both instantly knew we were going to have a great photo set. Hannah’s energy and enthusiasm to get a great set of pictures could be seen from the first email to last picture. Ryan was awesome too, even though he was a bit nervous and tense at first, as the day wore on he became a natural in front of the camera. Sometimes these couple’s photos shoots can be a bit overwhelming to the customer as they have no idea the level of thought and planning that goes into a great set.

Well enough talking, here are some of my favourites. You can also view them on Facebook….

This next shot was around the beginning of the shoot. I could tell right away they were a bit nervous and in addition, placing them on an ledge looking over a 50ft drop probably didn’t help either. However I got some great candid shots during this time.

This next shot is actually the same bridge but instead of hanging over the edge I decided to get on the floor. Ryan at this point was wondering what he had gotten himself into and was looking for a way out:)This is him eyeing his exit path.

Ryan had some scraps and scratches on his left arm from work however I was able to cover them up in Photoshop. This was also when I felt both people starting to relax and not be bothered by the camera. It was good practice for their real wedding coming up next year.

This next shot is when the light is starting to become magical. You got to love Vancouver Summers!!

..

Hannah had a great idea of wearing each other’s respective hockey teams hat on. It turned out great

I found anytime the dog came into the pictures both Hannah and Ryan started to get comfortable, kind of like a kid hugging their big teddy bear. Also, even though there were many “Lookie Loos” both of them really stated to shine in these photos.

This next shot is just an image of Ryan. The original image had Hannah blinking, so I cropped her out. I think this picture is awesome because Ryan looks like the lead singer of some rock band album cover art.

Shanghai Oh My

A friend had a business trip in Shanghai and asked if I wanted to join. Of course I said yes. I was surprised by the pure beauty in architecture of all the Shanghai buildings.  Enjoy the pictures.

For as long as I have owned a camera I love to take shots of people in action on a bike or motorcycle. I dont know why but it makes me feel good.

If you ever go to Shanghai you must have Soup Dumplings. It is like salty liquid crack shoved inside a herion moist dumpling wrapped in a cannabis skin. Amazing!!

Here are some black and whites to make me look artsy.:)

So apparently in China your paid Profesional driver, will drive like an idiot and go well over 200km/h. Their highway was like the wild west where anything goes. It was one of the scariest events I have ever been apart of, but Im not a little bitch so I just took a nap instead. :p

This is what Joe (my friend that invited me) would look like if he were a blue medical ninja.

Working hard? Nope all watching TV.

EunHa & Jay’s Wedding

This weekend I was invited to the wedding of an Ultimate Player. I knew both of them form the Jeju Ultimate Tournament from a couple weeks back. Being only a guest at this wedding was a bit of a relief. Usually I am shooting weddings and never get the opportunity to enjoy the festivities. However at the end of the wedding when the paid photographer was done doing group shots, I decided the ex-wedding photographer in me would take over and do the “Fun, Goof Off” Shot.

........

In typical Korean Wedding fashion the bouquet toss is just a photo opportunity and not an actual hilarious “free for all” event like in most western weddings. As a photographer this is awesome, because you can redo the shoot if you dont get it the first time!!:). On a side note the bouquet was digitally put in for the first bouquet shot as it was originally out of the frame.

After the wedding Sunny and I went to Shilla Duty free to buy some sunglasses. But while we were there I decided to take the opportunity to shoot in a very beautiful location.

Check out my amazing self timer shot.
